The Mighty Photoshop – CT Pet Photography

This weekend John and I set-up our traveling studio for a session with Abbey the Cairn Terrier.  The room we set-up in was a challenge…to say the least!  The ceilings were high, the room was long and narrow and the umbrella stands could not be positioned properly.  Ughhh!  All that, and the lighting in the room was making my white balance a total nightmare!!!!  I wanted to cry!!!  Once we got home, I uploaded my images to Aperture on my Mac, and began to sort through them all.

Well, there they were….all the yellow-tinted, dark, lousy shots!!!  Boooo!!!  But wait….I shoot RAW, there IS hope!!!  Of course!!!!!  I have so much more flexibility over the exposure and white balance than shooting jpeg (thank goodness!)  So, I worked my Photoshop magic…and voilà, adorable images that make me smile!!!!  I think the end-results are pretty awesome…and the client (yes, it’s my mom) is pretty happy too!

(Adjusted Levels and Curves in Photoshop, White Balance corrected in Aperture, spots and treat-crumbs removed with Healing Brush)

Here’s just a little sample of the cuteness that’s all Abbey….
Not so cute….
